💕June Mewsletter: Conquering Your Goals💕

💖Hello my dear readers!💖

📖 Currently Reading: Psycho-Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz

đŸŽ¶Currently Music: Pretty Girl Magic by Moonlight Scorpio

This month, I don’t have a lot to share, other than my preparations for Toronto Comic Arts Festival. I’ve completed Magikats! The Mystery of the Moon and all the products I’ve been prepping. I’ve visited with friends through nature walks, playing games, and going to outdoor craft events. These close friends have definitely helped me maintain my sanity and somewhat of a work/life balance during this past month!

✹Shop Updates✹

I have a lot of new products coming soon to my shop (post TCAF), but I do have an exciting update.
Take a look at Sticker Sheet launch with 12 designs to pick from! These are printed and cut on matte vinyl sticker paper in my home studio with my printer and Cricut!

🌟Toronto Comic Arts Festival🌟

I’ve been working hard in the background preparing for the long-awaited trip to Toronto! Originally, I was supposed to debut Magikats! The Wand of the Vale at TCAF in 2020, but then the world shut down. This has been a big event for me in the works for a long time. I am very proud of myself that I am able to debut the second book Magikats! The Mystery of the Moon at TCAF 2022! It shows I never gave up, even when things felt dark, and I kept on going. And of course, the Universe places me at table 222. I’ll take that as a good sign of things to come!

I was also interviewed on True North Country Comics Podcast for Magikats! Check out the interview below.

In my latest Vlog, you can check out everything I have been working on behind-the-scenes in preparation for Toronto Comic Arts Festival and the up-coming con season! It has been so fun to work on a new line of products and merchandise that feel even more like me - aka more magic, more sparkles. I can’t lie though, I am excited to celebrate and rest after this trip!

🌛Conquering Your Goals🌜

On this journey of being an artist, our road is paved full of many mountains we wish to climb. We gather the tools needed to conquer these massive feats, and make our way up the mountain. We learn about pacing ourselves, strategy and paving our own way. Our faith can become tested at times. Sometimes, we may even get so tired, that we sit down for a break and lose the steam to continue ahead.

A Dark Night of the Soul is what it’s referred to in writing classes. It’s when our spirit is broken and we are at our lowest point throughout our journey. It’s when we are tempted to get up and turn back, losing faith in our capabilities to ever reach the top. Our spirit becomes heavy, tired and maybe even a little bit broken. It’s absolutely a test of faith in our goals and in ourselves.

Something beautiful happens in this moment as we begin to crack open. A piece of light and growth emerges from inside us as the limiting beliefs and things holding us down begins to chip away. We realize that it isn’t a choice to create through art, that it’s something we must do. It’s a persistent whisper inside our chest that will never cease. I suppose that’s why they call it a calling.

We create to help share a piece of essence with others. It’s our spirit’s mark on the world. We do it to share a piece of our story and perspective, so we continue on. This is where we leave all the desire of outside validation behind. We are freed from the weight of our limiting beliefs. Our eyes awaken to the scope of magnificence of our own creation, instead of chasing it from others. With a new sense of self worth and appreciation for our creations, can we confidently move forward.

This is how I really realized creativity is my biggest muscle and that I am capable of doing things. This is how I was able to see two comic books, over 200 pages of comics, complete in 3 years. This is how I made it through the darkness of COVID as an artist and conquered my goals that continue to call for me.
